Judicial public policies?

The article aims to demonstrate that the Judicial Power performs political functions and has an institutional apparatus that qualifies it as a policy maker, a government body. From the description of characteristics common to all public policy, the work clarifies how judicial decisions can be conceived as manifestations of judicial public policies, given the potential to cause direct or indirect impacts on the social, political, or economic environment. Finally, it is proposed that the focus of studies on the impacts of judicial public policies is not limited to an isolated decision, but to the multiple effects of judicial decisions taken in the same direction.
