Being for itself at the end of the 1st section of Hegel's Doctrine of Being presents the movement of the categories of being for itself as dialectics of reality and ideality, of the one and the multiple and of repulsion and attraction. The objective is to explain how quality reaches its highest moment in the category of being, which implies its surpassing for quantity. In other words, what constitutes the logical necessity of the supposition of quality in quantity? First, we describe the dialectic of being for itself and being for the one and the dialectic of the one and the multiple; then, we reconstruct the dialectic of repulsion and attraction being, on the one hand, the critique of the concept of matter understood as an external a priori force; and on the other hand, the elaboration of the concept of matter from a new epistemological methodology that structures the Hegelian ontology. Finally, we deal with the transition from being to itself qualitative to being quantitative as a structuring of logic in the process of advancing the determination of the most comprehensive categories of the Doctrine of Being. The dialectic of being for itself is situated in the transition from quality to quantity as an onto-epistemic turn that points to the importance of transforming substance into conceptual subjectivity.
