O artigo que segue é centrado no conceito de Relação absoluta exposto por Hegel no final da Lógica da Essência. O texto é estruturado a partir do conceito de aparecimento e de efetividade, no qual Hegel expõe as relações fundamentais e a lógica das modalidades. O problema básico diz respeito à demolição das antigas estruturas metafísicas e pergunta acerca da concepção hegeliana de relação posta no lugar da essência. O trabalho apresentado é um estudo a partir do texto hegeliano recentemente traduzido ao Português e procura evidenciar a significação filosófica da Relação nos momentos da substancialidade, da causalidade e da interação. Destaca a Relação absoluta como o ponto fulcral da contradição através da qual a racionalidade destrói na medida em que constrói e constrói na medida em que destrói.
