RELIGIONS FROM A TRANSNATIONAL PERSPECTIVE

The aim of this paper is to discuss how the transnational perspective can expand the range of such research of religions, offering a wide range of shades. The article contextualizes the analysis proposal since the advent of modern nations, in the end of the nineteenth century, comprehending that is can just be Applied to contemporary or subsequences objects to this process. Besides that, it points out the relevance of borderless review, on process of territorialization and deterritorialization analysis of religious movements and performances. To understand its applicability, the paper uses two examples of analysis: the case of the secularization and laicization of the end of nineteenth century and mediumistic religious mediatization movements during the pandemic period. In the end, the article reflects upon how the transnational perspective, that can’t be faced like a method, brings a new approach to religious objects, focusing over and above their local context, inserting them on international dynamics of making believe.
