"Go to Brazil, there is the land where the imaginary sprouts": With these words Roger Bastide, eminent sociologist of religions, addressed a young Franco-Brazilian PhD student who was doing her research in Grenoble, France, in the 1970s, under the guidance of her master and friend, the great philosopher and anthropologist of the imaginary, Gilbert Durand. The young scholar of the imaginary to whom we are referring is one of the important references in research on the imaginary in Brazil. We are talking about the anthropologist and PhD Danielle Perin Rocha Pitta.
