This article records some notes resulting from the study carried out on Michel Foucault's Archaeological Discourse Analysis (AAD). To do so, it uses the approach itself, as a study methodology, and the works of Foucault (1999, 2001, 2008), Palomo (2001), Carlos (2017, 2021) and others as parameters that guide the problematization of the sign, identified as the being of language, its possibilities of use and enunciative functions, as well as objective to stir up some theoretical threads that weave the web of knowledge that involves the AAD perspective with regard to the relationship between the sign, the discourse and the utterance, whose connection between the terms is treated differently by the AAD, when compared to the current mode that circulates within the domain of social and human sciences. Guided by the AAD hypothesis, as a discourse theory, after developing the analysis, the study concludes, highlighting the importance the importance of language, both as a crucial tool for human interaction and the formation of knowledge, and as indispensable for the making of discourse, as an utterance, highlighting the richness and complexity of the archaeological point of view regarding the notion of language, discourse, utterance and their relationships.
