Abstract

This article aims to present the achievements of Kanaimî from the representations of the Macuxi and Wapichana of the Circum-Roraima Region. In these representations are present the violent relations, rituals and events that make him a being feared by the various peoples of this region. These representations are configured as a response to the cultural conditions of these peoples and at the same time a condition of their existence. We will investigate the rituals and actions of Kanaimî, based on the conception of magic by Marcel Mauss. The concepts elaborated by Mauss served as parameters for a comparison and analysis. These representations about rituals and their violence can mean an identity relationship, even if one thinks of processes of opposition to it as a bad being. We will examine whether there is an associative identity process between the peoples of this region with Kanaimî to understand some form of self-identification of their own peoples and their relations with other peoples of the region.
