Human Values, Ethics, Social ChangeAbstract
This issue of the journal Ágora Filosófica, entitled "Ethical-Bioethical Human Values in a Changing Society", is dedicated to an in-depth reflection on the challenges imposed on the concept of "human" in the face of accelerated contemporary transformations. Aligned with the research line "Ethics, Moral Foundations and Human Values" of the Philosophy Postgraduate Program at UNICAP, the issue brings together a set of articles that investigate the urgency of affirming values that oppose the logic of exclusion and precariousness. The contributions address, from multiple perspectives, topics such as the implications of the globalized economy for social justice in Africa, the relevance of Spinoza's theory of the affections for good living, the role of education as a field of dispute and emancipation, the legacy of Brazilian philosophy for self-knowledge, the precariousness of teaching work in the digital age and the ethical dimension of care in phenomenological-hermeneutic clinical practice. The issue reaffirms the need for an ethic of care, dignity and justice as a response to today's dehumanizing scenarios.
