Abstract

This article intends to present to Portuguese-speaking scholars of religion the richness of the contributions of Wilfred Smith, a professor of comparative religion that is very important for us to think of the diversity of religions not as a punishment, but as a blessing from the origins. He proposed a fundamental theology of the world's religions, based on all their texts and sacred narratives and deepening the transreligious experience that appears in them. This interpretation is quite suitable for talking about the religiosities that are reconfigured in the contemporary Global Village.

Doutor em Educação Teológica (Ph.D) pelo SETECA, Seminário Teológico Centro Americano (Guatemala), Mestre em Business Administration pela FAAP, Fundação Armando Álvares Penteado e Mestre em Ciências da Religião pela UNICAP, Universidade Católica de Pernambuco. Trabalha na instituição internacional THE SALVATION ARMY, onde, entre outras, exerceu a função de Diretor do Centro de Formação Espiritual e Secretário Nacional de Educação no Brasil.
