Righteousness, Peace, and Joy in the Holy Spirit (Rom 14:17)
An Essay on Holy Spirit and Peace

The article aims to present a pacifist Pneumatology starting from the link between the Holy Spirit and peace in order to a corresponding praxis. In the words of John Paul II, "the Spirit-Love is also the Spirit of peace" (Dominum et Vivificantem, n. 67). This is a recovery of a concept present in popular and ecclesial tradition and piety, grounded in the Trinitarian theology of the Communio of persons and in the biblical understanding of the God of peace, as well as of New Testament links between the Holy Spirit and peace. As conclusion is possible to say that a life according to the Spirit implies a creative commitment for peace and nonviolence in all spheres of Christian existence.
