Educational practice encounters extremely complex biases and nuances that converge in everyday school life and especially in the classroom. Culture is necessary to form a fruitful environment for research and investigation for anyone who aspires to find a successful path to educational practice. In this scenario of constant search for understanding social dynamics, pedagogical currents, applicable ideologies and philosophies, this article proposes to study the relevance of popular culture and citizenship education from a philosophical perspective. The referenced study intends to reflect on the educational process and the insertion of popular culture in pedagogical praxis, as well as its conjunction with the concept and understanding of citizenship education from a philosophical perspective. Through Gramsci's thought, the cut expresses the relevance regarding the necessary use of popular culture as a didactic element to achieve a holistic and preparatory education for the insertion and training of a student to assume the role of citizen in a diverse society. plural form.
