Entity and Entity-for-self in Hegel's Objective Logic
a formal analysis based on the Operation of Exterior Negation

In this paper, we formally define the concepts of Entity and Entity for self, on the bases of the ways they are informally presented in Hegel's Logic. Initially, we introduce a formal concept for the notion of Exterior Being, which is only referred to in Hegel's Logic. To this end, we explicitly define the operation External Negation, which appears only implicitly in that Logic. The application of the operation External Negation relates Being There and Being for Itself to their external Objectivities (that is, to Objectivities that are external to the sphere of thought), namely, the External Being There and the External Being for Itself. The unity of Being There with its corresponding External Being There, as well as the unity of Being for Itself with its corresponding External Being for Itself, are then taken as the constitutions of the corresponding concepts External Entity There and External Entity for Itself.
