The Proposal of Jürgen Habermas in “The Future of Human Nature”

This article is a bibliographical investigation about the philosophical proposal of Jürgen Habermas in "The future of human nature". It has the objectives of presenting an initial overview of Habermas' thought and how it relates to the exhibited in this book. We present an in-depth background on assumptions that Habermas rises as given. This is the case of the Kantian theory of justice and the Kierkegaardian ethics of being oneself, thoughts related to the construction of Habermasian philosophy and its post-metaphysical thinking. From the conference "Justified Moderation", Haber-mas lays out proposals of solutions to problems derived from situations, soon possible, thanks to advances in biote-chnology. It culminates in the debate on genetic techniques applied to pre-personal human life as liberal eugenics, through the “creation of humans”. It is a hypothetical problem, developed in preventive thinking for the future, what justifies the need for clarification on how Habermas outlines his reflection. As a result of the research, we find the Habermasian proposal in the narrowing of the limits within which biotechnical interventions would be normatively valid and responsible. Exclusi-vely the ones with predictable effects and which could, necessarily, assume consent of the future concerned ones, who would have suffered genetic interventions.
