Vol. 11 No. 26 (2020): INDIGENOUS SPIRITUALITIES

Summary:

The dossier aims to contribute to the development of reflections on INDIGENOUS SPIRITUALITIES, this important element of identification, unity and ethnic recognition of the indigenous people in Northeastern Brazil. Starting from the acknowledgement that each people has unique religious beliefs and rituals, some indigenous religious practices will be addressed in the perspective of convergences, such as belief in the forces of nature, in enchanted deities and / or in the teachings of ancestors, revered in rituals, ceremonies and festivities Considering this is a very complex and unique topic, the dossier shall bring together studies by renowned researchers and scholars in the field, coming from several Brazilian and foreign Universities with extensive research in indigenous communities.
