A ESPIRITUALIDADE DIANTE DO ENTRELAÇAR DA VIDA E DA CONCEPÇÃO SOBRE A MORTE "Spirituality before the interlaced life and concept of death"

Abstract

Este artigo objetiva demonstrar a relevância da espiritualidade na vida de cuidadores familiares de crianças/adolescentes com câncer, diante das dificuldades proporcionadas pela doença e pela possibilidade de morte. Para isso, foram entrevistadas três cuidadoras familiares de religiões distintas, do Núcleo de Apoio à Criança com Câncer do Estado da Paraíba (NACC-PB) ou Casa da Criança com Câncer; com o intuito de, pela análise do discurso, averiguar as concepções sobre a morte dessas pessoas perante o desafio do enfrentamento de um câncer em um ente familiar. As análises apontam para a importância da fé e da esperança, proporcionadas pela espiritualidade, existentes nas crenças e nos valores das cuidadoras familiares. Considera-se que, a espiritualidade pode atuar como reforço psicológico e mecanismo de defesa para o enfrentamento nos momentos difíceis da existência.

Abstract

This paper will to demonstrate the relevance of spirituality in the lives of family caregivers of children/adolescents with cancer, given the difficulties offered by illness and possible death. For this, three family caregivers adepts of different religions  were interviewed, they are from the Center for Support of Children with Cancer in the State of Paraiba (NACC-PB) or House of Children with Cancer. We choosed them to try to analyse usying the methodology of discourse and examine the conceptions of the death of these people facing the challenge of coping with a cancer in a loved family. The analysis points to the importance of faith and hope, provided by spirituality, existing beliefs and values ​​of family caregivers. It is considered that spirituality can act as reinforcement and psychological defense mechanism for coping in difficult moments of existence.
