Deutsche Evangelische Vereinsschule Sapyranga e Genuíno Sampaio : lugares de memória e espaços de formação entre a germanidade e a brasilidade no sul do Brasil

Resumo

O artigo analisa o surgimento de duas escolas de educação básica na área de imigração alemã no Rio Grande do Sul, cuja trajetória particulariza a história da educação no âmbito da imigração no sul do Brasil. A origem das escolas Deutsche Evangelische Vereinsschule Sapyranga e Genuíno Sampaio, localizadas em Sapiranga (RS) está intimamente associada ao passado Mucker, que marcou a zona de imigração alemã na região, no final do século XIX. As escolas, surgidas, respectivamente, em meados do século XIX e na década de 1930, permitem compreender diferentes contextos e singularidades presentes em uma comunidade teuto-sul-rio-grandense, na qual a escola desempenhava importante papel social, enquanto formadora e (re)produtora de memórias. Propõe-se, ainda, a interpretação desses espaços ,enquanto lugares de memória ,na medida em que ,através de suas toponímias e organização próprias, revelam um complexo processo de manipulação da memória coletiva.

Abstract:

The present article analyzes the founding of two elementary schools in the area of intense German immigration in the state of Rio Grande do Sul. The existence of these schools particularizes the history of education within the boarders of immigration in the south of Brazil. The origin of the previously mentioned schools, namely Deutsche Evangelische Vereinsschule Sapyranga and Genuíno Sampaio, both located in Sapiranga (RS), is intimately associated with the local Mucker history, which has branded the area of German immigration at this end of the country, at the end of the 19th century. The schools, which were both founded in the beginning of the 19th centry and in the 1930's, allow us to comprehend different contexts and sigularities present in a South Brazilian German community, in which a school played a major social role, both in forming and in (re)producing memories. This article also proposes the interpretation of those memory places of a given community. Through its toponimies and its own organization, it unveils a complex process involving the coletive memory.
