Em tempos plurais contemporâneos, procurar sustentar uma teoria do conhecimento ou epistemologia que desconsidere os contextos linguísticos específicos e os ambientes argumen-tativos onde se produz esse saber é manter-se num paradigma moderno e ultrapassado em que o sujeito cognoscente se contrapunha ao objeto cognoscível, numa relação de oposição infundada que vai encontrar hoje o seu ocaso. É a linguagem, entendida enquanto pragmática social, e a retórica, enquanto adaptação discur-siva a auditórios sempre específicos, que nos remetem de um paradigma que incorpora a objetividade do mundo para um outro de enten-dimento intersubjetivo. O que faz do conhecimento válido o conhecimento previamente acordado enquanto tal.
