Abstract

This text originates from a conference given at the Center de Recherche et d'Échanges sur la Diffusion et l'Inculturation du Christianisme (CRÉDIC), on the occasion of its 38th Colloque held in Maredret, France, in August 2017. It’s objective is to offer the reader an approach on Liberation Theology, from three points: in the first one, the path taken by this theology born of the ecclesial, social and political reality of Latin America is presented; in the second one, the main lines of this theological reflection are shown, from its see-judge-act method; finally, it is exposed how, when, where and to what extent this theology was accepted. In this way, the objective is to form a broad, clear and martyrological understanding of the Church's experience of faith in Latin America.
