This study consists of an analysis of the work Liber Novus by the Swiss psychiatrist Carl Gustav Jung. Our aim was to reflect on the importance of his dialectical confrontation with the unconscious, as recorded in this work, for the construction of his theory. We sought to understand how this inner exercise, together with his research and clinical work, served as an experiential basis for the development of his ideas. In addition to analyzing his own theory, we also looked at other contemporary Jungian writers and raised some hypotheses about the relevance of Jung's personal experience in the construction of Analytical Psychology.
