The present article deals with the chapter Being for self of Hegel's Science of Logic and the dialogue implied therein with Leibnizian philosophy. In the development of the category of being for self, which completes the movement of quality and establishes the transition to quantity in the Doctrine of Being of the Science of Logic, Hegel exposes the dialectic between the one and the multiple, in addition to introducing observations about Leibnizian philosophy. The objective of this article is to make an appreciation of the chapters Leibniz, from the Lectures on the History of Philosophy, and Being for itself, from the Science of Logic, in order to, by relating them, better understand how Leibnizian philosophy is understood in the context of the to be for self, and how through this Hegel intends to have overcome it.
