Abstract

O pensamento crítico brasileiro ainda desconhece a repercussão que alcançou a filosofia de Nietzsche na produção escrita de autores do movimento germanista, formado por intelectuais atuantes no Recife e no Rio de Janeiro do final do século XIX e início do XX. Nesse sentido, no que concerne a recepção inicial da filosofia de Nietzsche no Brasil, contamos examinar a sua presença na produção escrita de pelo menos três autores do movimento germanista, quais sejam, Tobias Barreto, Sílvio Romero, Farias Brito e, indiretamente, João Ribeiro. Para tanto, iremos analisar a maneira pela qual eles tomaram contato com a filosofia de Nietzsche, procurando identificar suas fontes sobre ele, bem como as interpretações que deixaram a seu respeito em suas produções escritas, como livros, artigos ou ensaios.
