Abstract

O objetivo deste estudo é relacionar Tomás de Aquino com a Idade Média e especificamente com o século XIII. Para alcançar o objetivo o estudo foi dividido em três partes, sendo elas: Idade Média, O século XIII; Tomás de Aquino e o século XIII. É apontado a existência de uma dialética entre Tomás de Aquino e a Idade Média, especialmente o século XIII. O século em que ele nasceu, viveu e produziu sua vasta obra. Ele é um produto da cultura medieval e do século XIII e, ao mesmo tempo, é o centro da efervescência cultural, intelectual e religiosa que este século experimentou.
