Abstract

O fundamento da beleza sensível em Agostinho é a unidade que existe em cada

criatura considerada em sua particularidade, como considerando a totalidade

cósmica, que também é uma forma de unidade. Diante disso, tudo o que existe,

apesar de sua multiplicidade, possui unidade em algum grau, e enquanto são

unas são igualmente belas. Todas as simetrias, harmonias, semelhanças, diferenças,

contrastes, etc. do mundo sensível são belos por serem fundamentados

na unidade e sempre apontam para a unidade.
