A PRIMEIRA RECEPÇÃO DE NIETZSCHE NO BRASIL PELA ESCOLA DE RECIFE

A Faculdade de Direito de Pernambuco é o ponto inicial da recepção brasileira de Nietzsche. A Escola de Recife surge de um movimento intelectual dentro da faculdade pernambucana que, entre seus objetivos, busca construir uma identidade cultural nacional que se distancie do predomínio europeu. Em meio a esse movimento, encontramos a citação explícita mais antiga do filósofo alemão que nos leva ao texto de Tobias Barreto de 1876. Nesse período, muitas obras que fariam parte da formação de alunos vindouros, como José Oiticica e Gilberto Amado, são adquiridas pela instituição pernambucana.
